2018 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet Engine Specifications

2018 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet Engine Specifications

The Mercedes-Maybach S600 is no longer the king of the playground thanks to the introduction of the 2018 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet. It uses the same chassis that the S600 uses, but it has more everything. More horsepower, more torque, and more sky. It is the first cabriolet every offered by Mercedes-Maybach and it will be available for extremely limited purchase in the spring of 2017. Here are the engine specifications we have all been waiting for.

Mercedes-Maybach S550 VS S600 2017 Mercedes-Maybach S550 4MATIC Sedan VS S600

6.0L V12 biturbo

Unlike the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 that was recently unveiled, the S650 Cabriolet has a real combustion engine. We were expecting it to at least be aided by electric motors at all four wheels, but it turns out this is not the case. For the S650 Cabriolet, the famous Mercedes-Benz 6.0L 12 biturbo engine has been tuned up to 630 horsepower and 637 lb-ft of torque. Not only does this make it more powerful than the Mercedes-Maybach S600 or the Mercedes-Benz S600, but it also makes the S650 more powerful and faster than the Mercedes-AMG S65.

Horsepower 630
Torque 637 lb-ft
0-60 4.1 Seconds
Top Speed 155 MPH

Acceleration

Mercedes-Benz has yet to release any information regarding the curb weight of the S650, but even with all of this power, it still needs 4.1 seconds to get to 60 miles per hour. Granted, this is .1 seconds faster than the S65 and still faster than 99.999% of the cars you will encounter on the road, but it makes you wonder exactly how heavy the S650 will be. Also to our dismay, the top speed will be limited to 155 miles per hour, as is standard with Mercedes-Benz.
